Milling through
the years

Originally established in the early 1950s by the well-known Valentine family, our sawmill began as a small portable operation in Inglewood. After a fire in the early 1970s, a purpose-built sawmill was constructed, setting the stage for decades of innovation in timber processing. Under Stuart Waite’s ownership in the late 1990s, the business expanded into building supplies, operating as Value Building Supplies.

In 2024, Campbell and Hannah Mattson—owners of North Taranaki ITM—acquired the sawmill and building supplies business, rebranding the milling operation as Peak Pine. With a renewed focus on increasing production and meeting growing wholesale and export demand, we continue to invest in modern, sustainable timber processing. Our commitment to quality, low-temperature drying techniques, and advanced manufacturing ensures we deliver durable, high-performance timber for both local and international markets.
